Learn how each of our 71 scanners works, what the grades mean, and how to trade the setups.
Conviction Grading System
Every setup is scored using domain-diversity analysis — the more unique scanner categories confirming a signal, the higher the conviction. Rare categories like smart money and regime earn rarity multipliers.
Trend & Momentum
16 scannersBreakouts, momentum ignition, EMA stacks, timeframe cascades, volume surges
Momentum Ignition
PRODetects periods of price compression (narrowing Bollinger Bands or Keltner Channels) followed by volume-confirmed expansion. Ideal for catching the start of strong directional moves.
Breakout Scanner
PROIdentifies Bollinger Band squeezes where bandwidth drops to historical lows, then alerts when price breaks out with above-average volume. Filters false breakouts using ATR confirmation.
Timeframe Cascade
PROScans for coins where all three timeframes (Daily, 4hr, 15min) agree on direction. 3/3 alignment = highest conviction. Uses EMA slope, price position, and momentum on each timeframe.
VWAP Trend
PROAnalyzes the slope of VWAP across multiple timeframes. When VWAP is rising on daily AND 4hr AND price is above both VWAPs, the trend is confirmed bullish (and vice versa).
Asia Session Movers
PROScans for coins making their biggest moves during the Asia trading session (00:00-08:00 UTC). Asian session moves in crypto often set the direction for the rest of the day. Ranks by price change magnitude and volume relative to the coin's average Asia session.
Volume Climax
PRODetects volume spikes >3x the 20-period average, which often mark capitulation bottoms or distribution tops. A volume climax on a down candle near support suggests panic selling exhaustion. A climax on an up candle near resistance suggests distribution. These events often precede trend reversals.
EMA Ribbon
FREETracks a ribbon of EMAs (8, 13, 21, 34, 55 periods). When all EMAs are stacked in order (8 > 13 > 21 > 34 > 55) the trend is strongly bullish. When the ribbon begins to compress and flip, it signals a trend change. The ribbon provides both trend direction and strength at a glance.
Unusual Volume Surge
PRODetects abnormal volume activity: volume surges more than 2.5x the 20-period average but price moves less than 1%. This divergence between volume and price suggests large players are accumulating or distributing without moving price — institutional activity hiding in plain sight.
Key Level Breakout
FREEMonitors price action around psychologically significant levels (round numbers like $50K BTC, $3K ETH) and historical support/resistance clusters. When price breaks through with conviction (volume + close beyond level), these breakouts tend to follow through as stops get triggered and new participants enter.
Range Compression
PROComputes Bollinger Band bandwidth on 1h, 4h, and 1d timeframes and ranks the current bandwidth against its 30-bar history (percentile rank). When all three timeframes sit below the 20th percentile, volatility is extremely compressed across the entire chart — squeeze imminent. Direction is biased from the longer-TF EMA slope.
Golden Cross / Death Cross
PRODetects the canonical Golden Cross (50-EMA crossing above 200-EMA = bullish regime) and Death Cross (50-EMA crossing below 200-EMA = bearish regime). Uses daily timeframe as primary with 4h confirmation. The most-watched trend regime signal in crypto — every cycle, 'golden cross incoming' headlines drive retail flow.
High Volume Bar
PRODetects bars where volume exceeds 3× the 20-period moving average, regardless of price action. Pure volume signal — fires on both bullish and bearish candles. Useful as a confirmation scanner in confluence (high-volume bars mark where participation surged). Distinct from Volume Climax (which requires a reversal candle) and Unusual Volume Surge (looser threshold).
MACD Cross
PRODetects the classic MACD signal-line crossover. Bullish: MACD line (12-26 EMA diff) crosses above its 9-period signal EMA. Bearish: crosses below. Most reliable when the cross happens near the zero line (momentum flipping) rather than in extreme territory. Confirmed by MACD histogram expansion in the new direction.
Ichimoku Cloud Breakout
PRODetects price breaking out of the Ichimoku Kumo (cloud) — bullish when close crosses above the Senkou Span A/B (top of cloud), bearish when crossing below. Cloud thickness is used as strength modifier (thicker cloud = stronger support/resistance on breakout). Also validates Tenkan/Kijun alignment in the breakout direction.
Parabolic SAR Reversal
PROFires when the Parabolic SAR indicator flips — dots moving from below price (uptrend) to above price (downtrend) or vice versa. Classic trend-following entry/exit signal. Best used with a volume confirmation filter to avoid whipsaws in sideways conditions.
Donchian Channel Breakout
PRODetects price breaking above the 20-period Donchian upper band (highest high) or below the lower band (lowest low) — the classic Turtle Trader entry signal. Works best on trending coins; filtered by ATR expansion to avoid false breakouts in tight ranges.
Mean Reversion & Fades
10 scannersVWAP deviation, RSI extremes, Bollinger snapbacks, parabolic shorts
VWAP Deviation
FREEFinds coins that have moved more than 2 standard deviations away from their Volume-Weighted Average Price. These extremes often snap back, providing mean-reversion opportunities.
RSI Extremes
PRODetects RSI readings below 25 or above 75 across multiple timeframes. Also identifies RSI divergences where price makes new highs/lows but RSI doesn't confirm.
Funding Rate Fade
PROIdentifies coins with extreme funding rates (>0.05% or <-0.05% per 8h) that signal overleveraged positioning. These extremes often precede snapback moves as positions get squeezed.
Triple Oversold Reversal
PROThe strongest mean reversion signal in QSA. Fires when three independent indicators agree: RSI below 20, price below the lower Bollinger Band, AND price below the lower Keltner Channel. Requires a bullish reversal candle (hammer, doji, or engulfing) for confirmation. Combines the old Oversold Bounce and Keltner Mean Reversion scanners into one high-conviction signal.
Parabolic Short
PROIdentifies coins that have gone parabolic — price accelerating upward at an increasing rate, far above all moving averages, with RSI > 80 and volume exhaustion. Parabolic moves always end with a sharp reversal. The scanner looks for deceleration signals (smaller candles, wicks, volume drop) after the vertical run.
Funding Flip Reversal
PROTracks perp funding rates across Hyperliquid, Binance, Bybit, and OKX. When 3+ exchanges flip funding sign within a 4-hour window (e.g. from positive→negative = shorts capitulating), that's market-wide capitulation, not single-exchange noise. Counter-trend reversal entry. Different from single-venue 'Funding Rate Fade' which only requires one exchange to hit extreme — this requires multi-venue confirmation, much higher conviction. Methodology: CryptoCred multi-venue confluence filter.
VWAP Sigma Bands
PROComputes session VWAP with 1, 2, and 3 standard-deviation bands. Price tagging the -2σ band is treated as oversold (long), +2σ as overbought (short), with 3σ marking extreme exhaustion that produces the strongest signals. Bands act as dynamic intraday support and resistance.
Williams %R
PROIdentifies Williams %R extremes (< -80 oversold or > -20 overbought) combined with a reversal confirmation candle. Larry Williams developed %R as a momentum oscillator that reacts quickly to price changes. Extreme readings with candle confirmation provide high-probability mean-reversion entries.
RSI Divergence
PROClassic reversal pattern: price makes a higher high but RSI makes a lower high (bearish divergence — buyers exhausted), OR price makes a lower low but RSI makes a higher low (bullish divergence — sellers exhausted). Scans 4h and 1d timeframes where divergences are most reliable. Requires minimum 5-candle separation between the two swings.
Stochastic Extremes
PROFires when the 14-period Stochastic Oscillator enters extreme zones (>80 overbought or <20 oversold) and then reverses — %K crossing %D in the direction out of the extreme. More sensitive than RSI for identifying short-term turning points, especially in ranging markets.
Chart Patterns
13 scannersBull flags, bear flags, wedges, cup & handle, head & shoulders, triangles
Cup & Handle
PRODetects the cup-and-handle pattern: a rounded decline and recovery (the cup) followed by a smaller pullback (the handle). Breakout from the handle with volume confirms the pattern. Works best in coins already in an uptrend.
Bull Flag
PRODetects a powerful pump (>8% move in 4-8 candles) followed by a tight consolidation flag (range <3% of the pump move). The flag pattern represents a pause before continuation. Breakout from the flag with volume confirms the next leg up.
Fibonacci Retracement
PROIdentifies significant swing moves and calculates Fibonacci retracement levels. Signals when price reaches and shows rejection at the 38.2%, 50%, or 61.8% levels with volume confirmation. The 61.8% golden ratio level is the strongest signal.
Inverse Head & Shoulders
PRODetects the inverse head and shoulders pattern: three troughs where the middle (head) is the lowest, flanked by two higher troughs (shoulders). The pattern completes when price breaks above the neckline connecting the two peaks between the troughs. Volume should increase on the breakout.
Falling Wedge
PROIdentifies falling wedge patterns where both support and resistance lines converge downward, with resistance falling faster than support. The narrowing range compresses volatility until a bullish breakout occurs. Volume expansion on the breakout confirms the reversal.
Bear Flag
PROIdentifies a sharp decline (the pole) followed by a tight upward-sloping consolidation (the flag). When price breaks below the flag's lower boundary with volume, it signals continuation of the downtrend. The measured move target equals the pole length projected from the breakdown point.
Head & Shoulders Top
PRODetects the head and shoulders top pattern: three peaks where the middle (head) is highest, flanked by two lower peaks (shoulders). The pattern completes when price breaks below the neckline connecting the two troughs. Volume typically decreases on each successive peak and increases on the breakdown.
Triangle Breakout
PRODetects converging trendlines forming triangles. Ascending triangles (flat top, rising bottoms) are bullish continuation. Descending (flat bottom, falling tops) are bearish. Symmetric triangles fire in the breakout direction. Requires 4+ touches on each trendline and volume confirmation on breakout.
Double Top / Double Bottom
PROIdentifies twin highs (double top) or twin lows (double bottom) within 1-3% of each other, separated by a meaningful pullback. Confirmation comes when price breaks the intervening swing low (top) or high (bottom) with volume. Failed double tops that resume up-trend are also flagged as bullish continuation.
Rising Wedge
PROCounterpart to Falling Wedge. Detects converging upward-sloping trendlines where the lower line rises faster than the upper line. Volume typically declines through the pattern. Breakdown below the lower trendline with volume confirms the pattern — measured move target equals the wedge height projected from the breakdown point.
Pennant Continuation
PROIdentifies pennants — small symmetric triangles forming after a sharp impulse move (the flagpole). Pennants are tighter than flags and resolve faster (5-15 candles). Breakout in the impulse direction with volume confirms continuation. Measured move equals the flagpole length projected from the breakout.
3-Push Pattern
PRODetects three consecutive pushes into the same swing high (bearish exhaustion) or swing low (bullish exhaustion), each push showing weakening momentum (declining volume + smaller body). Wyckoff terminology calls this a buying climax (top) or selling climax (bottom). Reversal trade triggers on the third push's failure.
Heikin-Ashi Reversal
PRODetects Heikin-Ashi candle color reversals after 5+ consecutive same-direction candles. Heikin-Ashi smooths price action making trend strength and reversals more visible than standard candlesticks. Confirmation requires the new-direction candle to close with a visible body (not a doji).
Smart Money & Structure
11 scannersWhale wallets, ICT order blocks, market structure shifts, change of character
Change of Character
PRODetects Change of Character (CHoCH) by analyzing swing highs and lows. When a higher-low is broken in an uptrend (or lower-high in downtrend), it signals a potential trend reversal.
Whale Tracker
PROMonitors the most profitable wallets on major exchanges for new position opens, size increases, and closes. When a top trader opens a new position, you see it within minutes.
Area of Interest
PROIdentifies Areas of Interest by clustering historical swing highs and lows on the 4-hour chart. Zones where multiple swings converge become strong support/resistance levels.
Whale Accumulation
PROUnlike the Whale Tracker (which shows current positions), this scanner detects accumulation patterns: a whale adding to a position in small increments over multiple hours/days while price stays flat or dips slightly. This stealth buying pattern often precedes major moves.
ICT Fair Value Gap
PRODetects ICT Fair Value Gaps using a 3-candle pattern: a strong displacement candle (>1.5x ATR) leaves a gap between candle 1 high and candle 3 low. Price often returns to fill these gaps, making them high-probability entry zones for continuation or reversal trades.
Coinbase Premium Flip
PROTracks the price spread between Coinbase (US-dominant) and Binance (offshore) BTC spot. When the spread flips sign and holds the new direction for 4+ hours, it signals an institutional flow shift. Sustained positive premium = US ETF/institutional accumulation (long bias). Sustained negative = offshore distribution (short bias). Methodology by Ki Young Ju (CryptoQuant).
HTF Orderblock
PROScans 4h candles for displacement moves (>1.5x ATR in a single candle). The last opposite-direction candle before the displacement defines the orderblock zone. When price returns to this zone within 5 bars of the displacement, signals an entry in the displacement direction.
Volume Profile (VAH/VAL/POC)
PROBins 4h candle volume across price buckets over a 30-bar window (~5 days). The Point of Control (POC) is the highest-volume bucket and acts as a magnet. Value Area High and Low (VAH/VAL) bound the price range containing 70% of total volume. Price at POC indicates magnet/reversal zones; breaks beyond VAH/VAL indicate breakout potential.
Liquidity Sweep + MSB
PROIdentifies a recent 1h swing high or low (last 20 bars), then detects a sweep where price pierces beyond the swing point but closes back inside the prior range. A subsequent break of the most recent opposite-direction swing confirms a market structure break (MSB), signaling a counter-direction trade.
Anchored VWAP
PROComputes VWAP anchored to specific structural events: the April 2024 BTC halving, the January 2024 spot ETF launch, and the most recent all-time high. Price interactions with these anchored VWAPs tend to generate high-conviction reactions because they represent the average position cost since major regime events.
Premium/Discount Zone
PROComputes the equilibrium midpoint of the last 50-bar swing range. Price above the midpoint is in 'premium' (favoring shorts), below is in 'discount' (favoring longs). Signal fires when price reaches an extreme — above the 75% level (premium short setup) or below the 25% level (discount long setup).
Derivatives & Flow
11 scannersFunding flips, OI divergence, liquidation magnets, CVD, basis trades
OI Divergence
PRODetects when price drops but open interest and volume surge — signaling new shorts entering. Combined with negative funding, this setup often precedes short squeezes.
Liquidation Hunter
PRODetects large liquidation events in real-time, then watches for volume-confirmed bounces at those levels. When a cascade of liquidations clears overleveraged positions, the resulting vacuum often produces sharp reversals.
Short Squeeze
PROIdentifies coins with extreme negative funding rates (shorts paying longs), high open interest, and a sudden price uptick. When shorts are crowded and price starts moving against them, forced liquidations cascade into a squeeze. The scanner detects the trigger conditions before the full squeeze unfolds.
Liquidation Magnet
PROCombines Hyperliquid open interest, funding rates, and recent price action to estimate where leveraged stop-out clusters concentrate. When a high-density short-liquidation cluster sits within 1.5x ATR overhead, signals a long magnet trade. Inverse logic generates short magnet signals for long-liquidation clusters underneath.
CVD Divergence
PROComputes Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) from per-candle buy vs sell volume estimates. When price makes a new high but CVD fails to confirm, that's bearish absorption (longs trapped). Reverse for bullish absorption at lows. Uses Hyperliquid trade data for accurate aggression classification.
OI Delta Spike
PRODetects sharp 1-hour Open Interest changes (>15% delta) on Hyperliquid perps. Rising OI + rising price = new longs entering with conviction. Rising OI + falling price = new shorts. OI spikes typically precede continuation moves as positioning matures over the next few hours.
Basis Trade
PROTracks the basis spread between perpetual futures and spot price. Positive basis (perp > spot) means longs are paying premium and funding is elevated; mean-reversion edge to short the perp. Negative basis flips the trade. Works best on coins with active spot markets (BTC, ETH, SOL, top alts).
Long/Short Ratio Extreme
PROReads Binance long/short account ratios for the top perpetual contracts. Extreme readings (>3.0 long-skewed or <0.4 short-skewed) historically precede reversal moves as crowded positioning gets squeezed out. Most useful in ranging or late-trend conditions.
Liquidation Cluster Sweep
PROIdentifies coins where price is approaching a known liquidation cluster (computed from open interest and funding-implied leverage). When price sweeps through a cluster, cascading liquidations create momentum spikes — the scanner fires as price enters the strike zone, not after the cascade.
Cross-Exchange Spread
PROCompares perpetual prices across Hyperliquid and Binance. Persistent spreads >0.1% indicate one venue is leading the other — typically the larger venue (Binance) drives the smaller (HL) toward convergence within minutes. Trade direction follows the lagging venue.
Spot vs Perp Premium
PROMeasures the premium of perp price over spot price as a percentage. Sustained positive premiums signal real spot buying pressure (often institutional). Sustained negative premiums signal leverage-driven shorts. Different from basis trade — this is a directional bias signal, not arbitrage.
Regime & Cycle
10 scannersQuiet/Normal/Chaos regimes, directional bias, BTC dominance, alt season
Regime Detector
FREEUses 5 independent signals (ATR percentile, return dispersion, wick ratio, volume surge, funding extremity) to classify the current market regime. Helps you know when to be aggressive vs defensive.
Volatility Scanner
PRORanks all coins by current ATR percentile vs their 30-day history. Highlights coins entering compression (potential breakout) or expansion (high volatility, defensive mode).
Directional Bias
PROAnalyzes BTC's daily chart structure (swing highs/lows + EMA stack) to determine the market-wide directional bias. When BTC is in a confirmed downtrend, it blocks long signals across all coins.
Token Unlock
PROIdentifies coins approaching significant token unlock events by detecting unusual sell-side patterns: increasing short open interest, rising funding rates from hedging, and elevated volume with negative price drift. Large unlocks often cause 5-15% sell pressure as insiders hedge or distribute.
Wyckoff Phase D
PRODetects coins in Wyckoff Phase D (late-stage accumulation): price breaks above the long consolidation base with volume confirmation after a spring or last point of support. The 30-period moving average turns horizontal then begins rising. This is the final accumulation phase before a markup begins.
Weinstein Stage 3
PRODetects coins entering Weinstein Stage 3 (distribution): price has rallied significantly, the 30-period MA begins to flatten after a long uptrend, and volume increases on down-days while decreasing on up-days. This is the topping pattern where smart money distributes to retail before Stage 4 decline.
Base Builder
PRODetects coins building a tight base: price range narrows to within 3% over 20+ candles, ATR drops to historical lows, and volume dries up. This extreme compression typically precedes a large directional move. The scanner watches for the first candle that breaks out of the base with above-average volume.
Stablecoin Dominance Drop
PROFetches USDT and USDC market caps along with total crypto market cap from CoinGecko. Computes stablecoin dominance and compares to 24h history (Redis-backed). A relative drop >2% indicates capital rotating out of stablecoins and into risk assets — a market-wide long bias signal.
BTC Dominance
PROTracks BTC market cap dominance from CoinGecko. Falling dominance (rotation into alts) flips this scanner long-bias on alts. Rising dominance (capital concentration in BTC) flips short-bias on alts. Uses 7-day rate of change to filter intraday noise.
ETH/BTC Ratio
PROMonitors ETH price relative to BTC. ETH/BTC trending up indicates ETH leadership and broader alt-season conditions; trending down signals BTC-led market with alt weakness. Uses 50-period EMA crossover on the ratio for regime classification.
QSA scans 500+ crypto perpetual contracts in real-time. All scanners use live market data — no backtested or simulated results.
